N. Hanges
Born: 1886 in Perista Nafpaktias
Died: 1952 in New York City
Resided on the upper West side of Manhattan with
his wife Margaret and his son Nicholas.
Entrepreneur: Establishe Hanges Florist in 1907
at 110th Street and Broadway in Manhattan. Eventually
partnered with his younger brothers, Louis and William.
Louis became the sole proprieter in 1935 and maintained
the business until 1988.
Established the House of Flowers on Main Street
in Flushing, New York. Eventually turned this business
over to his son Nicholas.
Community Leader: President of Agios Athanasios
Association of Perista. President of Nafpaktian
Brotherhood. President of Parish Holy Trinity Cathedral
in Manhattan.
