A few facts about his life

He
was born October 18, 1921. At the age of fifteen
years old (1936), he went to Athens to learn the
jewelry business. In July of 1940, he left for
the United States on a merchant ship and on September
1, 1940 he arrived in New York City. He worked
as a jeweler for sixteen months. |

On
November 21, 1940 he was called into the U.S. Army
to serve. He was sent to Campe Lee Virginia for
training and then was sent to North Africa in Casablanca
. In 1943, he trained in Camp Liory. From there
he was transfered to the 59th Evacuation Hospital
as a security guard. He left for Tunis for the invasion
of Sicily, Palermo. After six months they sent him
to the 5th Army in Anzio Italy for three months.

Then
he went back to the 7th Army, in time for the invasion
of South France.He travelled all the way to Germany
(Baveria) when the war came to an end.
He left for the United States on October 28, 1945
and arrived on November 12, 1945. After two years,
six months and twenty-one days in Foreign Service,
he returned to civilian life.
He served with the Naupaktian Brotherhood as treausurer
in 1947 for twenty years. He was also a treasurer
for the St. Athanasios Association of Perista.

In
1951, he married Athanasia Pappas (pappacostula). They
had a son named George and a daughter named Bessie. She
is married to Nick Stolatis. They have two grandchildren
named Evangelos and Contantina.
In 1952,
he
opened C&J Manufactory Jewelery at 99 Canal Street
in New York City.
